This is a project for a single-family house on the doorstep of Stara Planina. The assignment was for a single-story structure on a budget. Because of the fact that the house is located far away from big cities and the construction workforce is scarce, we favored more conventional building techniques. We decided to use a concrete framework combined with brick walls and timber roof structure which is left purposefully visible in the interior. The concept is entirely defined by the surrounding environment. The plot is located on a hill slope facing south. The building acts as an envelope protecting the interior spaces from the neighboring houses and the north but then opens to the south towards the wonderful mountain panorama and the sun.
